I feel honoured and privileged to lead the Department of Library and Information Science at Sardar Patel University. Our department has been dedicated to nurturing students for the evolving roles of information professionals in today’s digital and knowledge-driven society.
Library and Information Science is no longer limited to managing books and resources—it now encompasses information technology, digital libraries, data management, and knowledge services. Our curriculum reflects this evolution, offering a balanced focus on both traditional foundations and contemporary advancements. Emphasis is placed on ICT, digital resource management, research methodology, and ethical practices.
