Achievements & Awards

 

  • Till now more than 250 students have cleared at least one of the following competitive exams: UGC-CSIR-NET, NBHM, GATE, SLET etc. 
  • The Department of Mathematics has successfully completed various projects such as: FIST, DRS, SAP-I, SAP-II, and SAP-III allotted by UGC or DST.
  • The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) Library for Western zone is situated in the department. The total grant for books and journals received by the department is about 6 (six) crores rupees.
  • IAGRG Award: Dr. V.O. Thomas, a Ph.D. student of the department received “Prof. V.V. Narlikar Award” of IAGRG for the period 1997-2000. This award is given to the Best Ph.D. Thesis in General Relativity, Gravitation and related area in Indian universities once in four years.
  • Krunal Kachhia, a M.Sc. Student of the department and Ph.D. from Charotar University of Science and Technology received best thesis award from Gujarat Science Congress Association under category of Mathematical and Computer Science in 2016.
  • MinaxiLalit Science Award: Three of our students have secured first three positions in the State Level MinaxiLalit Science Awards in Mathematics during different years given away by the Gujarat Science Academy.
  • ⁠Prof. A. H. Hasamani received the  Sardar Patel Research Award in 2018.
  • Prof. J. C. Prajapati received the  ⁠Sardar Patel Research Award in 2020.
  • ⁠Prof. J. C. Prajapati received the International Earg Awards 2024, Award for outstanding faculty of the year 2024,  Presented by MathTech Thinking Foundation, Fazilka, Punjab, In association with Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur.
  • ⁠Prof. J. C. Prajapati received the  ⁠Sardar Patel Research Award in 2025.
  • Dr. P. G. Patel received the GSA Postgraduate Teachers Mathematical Science Award, Gujarat Science Academy (GSA), 2024.
  • Dr. P. G. Patel received the SERB International Travel Support (ITS) Scheme / ANRF Grant for participation in the ATSF 2024 Conference, Turkey, 4–7 September 2024.
  • Dr. P. G. Patel received the Best Presenter Award (Faculty Category), Science & Humanities Department, LDRP Institute of Technology & Research, Gandhinagar, 2025 for “SVD-Based Image Compression,” National Short-Term Training Program on Linear Algebra for Machine Learning, 1–5 December 2025.
  • Dr. P. G. Patel received the 1st Rank Award for Best Presentation in Graph Theory, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, 2026.
  • Dr. P. G. Patel received the  Prof. A. R. Rao Youth Talents Award, Prof. A. R. Rao Foundation, and Gujarat Ganit Mandal.
  • Dr. M. H. Chudasama received the CHARUSAT Research Paper Award in 2023.
  • Dr. M. H. Chudasama received the  ⁠Sardar Patel Research Award in 2023.
  • Dr. M. H. Chudasama received the CHARUSAT Research Paper Award in 2025.
