News and Events for 2016-17

  1. The Department of Mathematics conducted election on 16th July, 2016 for the office bearers of the Mathematics Students’ Association for the academic year 2016-17. Mr. Jaimin A. Patel was elected as a General Secretary.
  2. The Mathematics Students’ Association organised a Freshers’ Party in the department on 26th July, 2016. In this event the department formally introduced the faculties and welcomed the new students.
  3. The Swadhyay Parivar came to the department and performed a drama on current social issues.
  4. The Students Association of Mathematics Department conducted Ganesh Arti on 6th September, 2016.
  5. The Students Association of Mathematics Department celebrated Teachers’ Day on 7th September, 2016.
  6. The department conducted Prof. A. R. Rao Mathematics competition for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students on 11th September, 2016.
  7. The department conducted NBHM M.Sc. students on 11th September, 2016.
  8. The SAP Advisory Committee held a meeting on Monday, 3rd October, 2016. In this meeting the following members were present:
    • Prof. Shirish Kulkarni (Chariman of Advisory Committee and Vice Chancellor)
    • Prof. A. H. Hasmani (Head and Professor)
    • Prof. H. V. Dedania (Coordinator of SAP Program)
    • Dr. D. J. Karia (Deputy Coordinator of SAP Program)
    • Prof. S. G. Dani (UGC nominated member)
    • Prof. B. K. Dass (UGC nominated member)
  9. The mathematics students organised Navratri Program on 6th October, 2016. It was on the ground of Humanities building from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Many students played garaba and enjoyed very much.
