The major area of Research interest is Floristics and Ethnobotany of Gujarat State, India.

Floristic explorations carried out in forest and non-forest areas in Central, South and North Gujarat with special emphasis on the distribution of rare plants. Eventually, occurrence of 20 species has been recorded for the Flora of Gujarat State. New distributional localities were found for many of the earlier recorded rare species. Many scientific illustrations and plant portraits have been prepared for facilitating the identification of Gujarat plants. Interesting ethnobotanical uses have been recorded for many plants of Gujarat. User-friendly computer based identification keys of Gujarat plants are in progress.
