COURSE OF STUDY
R.CCSPSS.1:A candidate who has passed the Bachelor’s degree examination in any faculty of this University under 10 + 2 + 3 or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 40 percent of marks will be considered eligible for admission to the “Certificate Course in SPSS” subject to other admission criteria prescribed in that behalf. In addition, the candidate should have studied at least one course in basic Statistics / Mathematics.
R.CCSPSS.2:In this Course the candidates shall under go training in statistical software SPSS. The course is of 60 hour duration and it will be run combining both class room teaching and computer practicals. The Course is expected to be covered in 10 weeks teaching. The course being part-time it will be conducted mainly on Saturdays and / or Sundays. If demand arises a crash course may be run during vacation with minimum two weeks duration.
R.CCSPSS3: The course coordinator will be in charge of the examinations. One internal test of 30 marks after approximately 24 hours teaching will be conducted by the Department. At the end of the Course, a theory examination of 70 marks and a practical examination of 100 marks will be held. The following grading scheme will be adopted to issue the certificate.
