Research & Development The Department has distinguished track record of research pursuits in the
area of Panchayati Raj, Indian Freedom Struggle and Politics and International
Relations. In addition to completing over twenty research projects on these fields
the members of the department have to their credit a publication of over 150 research
papers or articles.
The Department has the distinction of being the foremost by
publishing the highest number of reference and textbooks in Gujarati language on the
graduate and post-graduate courses in Political Science in the state of Gujarat.
The research in the field of Indian Freedom Struggle and Politics,
and International Relations, particularly in the area of the Post-Cold War Systemic
Transition pursued in the Department has been internationally acclaimed.

In addition to strengthening and enriching the activities of the
Sardar Patel Chair and the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Centre, the Department is planning to
introduce innovative course in certain areas of direct utility to the academic, civic and
political life. The nature of these courses is conceived to be interdisciplinary and
is proposed to be run on self-financed basis. |
