Research & Development The Department of Electronics lays a heavy
emphasis on frontier fields of Electronics with a prudent mixing of Science and
Engineering oriented subjects. Accordingly, the teaching and research activities of the
Department are centered around the Semiconductor Science and Device Fabrication. Most of
the sophistication of the modern Electronics is, in fact, hidden in the intricacies of
Electronic Materials, Devices, Design, Simulation, Production and Testing. Scientific and
Engineering efforts are required to realize the Electronic Gizmos that are in use today.
Hence, the research work in Electronic Science, encompasses diverse areas from the
Scientific and Technological aspects of Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology,
Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science
etc. Accordingly, the Department of Electronics could make efforts with emphasis on
studies on "Preparation, Characterization and Physical Properties of various
Semiconducting Materials and their Electronic Device Applications".
The major areas of research in
Department are as follows:
ð Electronic / Semiconducting Materials and Devices
ð Thin Film Active & Passive Devices
ð Sensors & Transducers Interfacing
ð Electroluminescent(EL) Display Devices
ð BioSensors & Bio Electronics
ð Polymer Electronics
