·        Laying of Foundation Stone of the Department by H.D.H.Shri Pramukh    Swami Maharaj of Bochasanwasi Akshar Purshottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS)

1988

·        Commencement of M.Sc. (Electronic Science) course

1989

·        Inauguration of Building ( Pramukh Swami Institute of Electronic Science) by H.E. Shri B. K. Nehru, Governor of Gujarat & H.D.H. Shri Pramukh Swami Maharaj

1990

·        Recognition of the Department and its M.Sc. (Electronic Science) course by UGC & DoE, New Delhi and sanctioning of grants for five years (upto 1995)

1992

·        Approval from Govt. of Gujarat towards financial grants for the Department from  1995 onwards

1993

·        A workshop on Digital Signal and Image Processing and its applications

1994

·        ISTE sponsored – Summer School on Fiber Optics & Its Applications in collaboration with B.V.M.Engg. College, V.V.Nagar

1995

·        UGC sponsored  First Refresher Course in Electronics

1996

·           Prof. N. G. Patel visited Germany for R & D work under Re-invitation Programme of DAAD fellowship

1997

·           4th National Seminar on Physics  & Technology of Sensors (NSPTS)

1998

·           Inauguration of the Ipcowala Santram Auditorium in the Department

·           Mr. P .B. Patel awarded fellowship to visit ICTP, Trieste, Italy for basic VLSI design course

1999

·           Prof. N. G. Patel visited ICB, Munster, Germany for R & D work under Indo-German project

·           International Symposium on Luminescent Materials & Applications (ISLA) – Jointly organized with MSU Baroda at SICART

2000

·           Ms. Stefani Meier, ICB, Munster, Germany visited the Department for    R & D work under Indo- German joint research project

·           A Workshop on Biosensors at SICART.V.V.Nagar

·           Acedemic Staff College, Ahmedabad , sponsored Second Refresher Course in Electronics
