It gives me great pleasure to introduce our Department and its various activities. Our Department is well-equipped with computing infrastructure. We are always eager to provide a knowledge-sharing environment by providing the latest information.
Today the department is considered as a model department for running the MCA programme in INDIA. The departmental resources viz., manpower, equipment, library and other infrastructure are as per the norm, maintaining the quality. Presently, the Department is laying emphasis on the following areas for teaching and research:
DBMS & Client-Server Technology Object-Oriented Technology Visual Technology Network Technology Systems Software Bioinformatics Wireless Technology Embedded Technology Knowledge-Based Systems Simulation Software Engineering Compilers Multimedia Technology Information Systems Trustworthy systems .NET & J2EE frameworks Distributed systems PLM (Product Lifetime Management)
It is a great pleasure for me to announce the commencement of M.Sc in bioinformatics a two year (semester system) programme in July 2005 with the funding of UGC under their "innovative programme" scheme in our department.
In our department we have provided with a very casual and friendly yet professional environment, wherein all the staff members and the students work hard individually as well as in teams. They easily get molded into any work environment. Our past experience says that our students are sincere & dedicated and they have been appointed in reputed companies in India & abroad. Integrating people, porcess and technology, the department achieves the goals.
We have been concentrating in Bioinformatics, Wireless Technology, Embedded Technology and .NET & J2EE from the couple of months. Very good result have been observed as students are performing excellant at the project site (IBM, TCS, ZYDUS-CADILA, APPLITECH, EITL, PULSIVE TECH, ONTARIO CANADA, etc) using these technologies.
I wish that we keep on continuing the current trend of teaching and research activities and grow as per the needs of the industry as well as society. We hope ICT (Information and Communication Technology), ICBT (Bioinformatics), ICET (Embedded), ICRT (Robotics) and such other technology will take the role of wide applicability connecting man and machines to improve the quality of life. One more thing I would like to point out is that now a days there is a great need of adding trust factor in our computing systems. Customers simply asume that the computing system will work as expected.
Pujya Shri Gordhanbhai Hathibhai Patel has always showered his blessings to the department’s growth by generously donating money. The present spacious building of the Department has been constructed with a generous donation by him, financial support from the UGC and state government and the Department’s internal resources. The total cost of the building is Rs. 2.25 crores.
Although we are able to make-up the building and other costs, may I appeal to all the passed-out students of this institute to support by the possible capacity to the Department for its faster and larger growth, so that we can provide more facilities as well as benefit to the youngsters in the society who want to build their career in field of Computer Science and Information Technology.
