Welcome to the G. H. Patel Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and Technology (GDCST) at  Sardar Patel University.

The department offers the degrees of Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.), Master of Science in Bioinformatics (M.Sc. in Bioinformatics), Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science and Applications (P.G.D.C.A.) and Ph.D. in Computer Science. Currently, the department has more than 400 students in various post graduate programmes.  It is housed in a spacious building with modern amenities and well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art hardware and software.

The department  has a growing, dynamic, and research-oriented faculty having a broad range of research interests including  system software, database management systems, network technology, information systems, bioinformatics, knowledge based systems, software engineering, visual technology, distributed systems, object oriented technology, enterprise computing, simulation, programming languages, high performance computing, computer graphics and multimedia  technology.

Our mission is to achieve academic excellence through innovative teaching and learning, quality research and enhanced development activities. The department has been continuously engaged in planning and implementing various kinds of education development activities for the pursuit of academic excellence with an eye towards the needs of the society, industries and the nation.
