M.Com (Previous):


We teach compulsory papers Viz., Entrepreneurship Development & Small Business, Business Environment, Business Management and Managerial Finance in M.Com (PREVIOUS). The objective of this course is to expose students to various aspects of Business, Environment, Management, Finance and Industry.


There are four compulsory papers in M.COM (PREVIOUS) as follows:

 


Paper- I:             ADVANCED BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

It’s main objective is to make students learn about concepts and emerging challenges in the field of management in THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY. The topics covered are Globalisation, TQM, SRB, Business Ethics and other such topics.

  

Paper- II:             MANAGERIAL FINANCE

It deals with key decisions of Financial Management and includes topics on Portfolio Analysis and Selection, International FM and other related topics.

 
Paper- III:           ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND SMALL BUSINESS

It is designed to make students understand Entrepreneurship Development, Process, Environmental Influences, Incentives and Assistance from Institutions to Entrepreneurs, Project Management, Problems of Women Entrepreneurship and other concerned topics.

 
Paper- IV:            BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

The objective of this paper is to provide an integrative view of Macro and Micro variables of Business Environment. It covers various major Macro and Micro Policies and Strategies and its impact on Business and Society. It reviews performance of an Indian Economy, Foreign Trade, Industry, etc. 

 


M. COM. (FINAL):

 

We offer Superspecialisation in the subjects of Accounting and Financial Management, Advanced Management, Marketing Management, and Human Resource Management as Elective Groups in M.Com (FINAL).


There will be four elective groups as follows: -

GROUP: 1 ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

GROUP: 2 ADVANCED MANAGEMENT

GROUP: 3 MARKETING MANAGEMENT

GROUP: 4 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT


The students will be allowed to opt for elective group based on his/ her result of M.Com (Previous). The main objective is to impart specialised knowledge, skills development, expertise and training to students relating to specific area of specialisation.

 

Each elective group consists of four compulsory papers:

 

 

GROUP 1:             ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT


Paper- I: Advanced Cost Accounting:

It includes areas like Cost Analysis for decision making, Methods and Techniques of Costing, Accounting Standards, Budgetary Control, Cost Audit and such other topics.


Paper- II: Advanced Management Accounting

It focuses on Current Issues in the subject, Management Control Systems, Evaluation of Internal Controls, Management Audit and such related topics.

 

Paper III: Taxation

It deals with Heads of Income, Exemption and Deductions, Tax Planning and Management, Taxation of Companies and other relevant topics.


Paper IV: Advanced Financial Management

It consists of Sources of Finance, Analysis of Leverage, Capital Structure, Cost of Capital and Budgeting, Financial Services, Financial Analysis and Planning, Dividend Policies and other concerned topics.

 

 

GROUP: 2:            ADVANCED MANAGEMENT


Paper I

It consist of areas like Time Management, SRB, TQM, Management of Change with Case Studies, and such other topics.


Paper II

It focuses on OB, OD, Quality of Work Life, Conflict and Stress Management, and other related topics.

 

Paper III

It includes areas on Management of Environment, Global Business, Ethics, Areas of HR Management and other recent trends in the subject.

 

Paper IV:  Research Methodology

      It concentrates on Researches and study of key trends in Management.

 

 

GROUP: 3 MARKETING MANAGEMENT

 

The objective of this group is to impart depth of knowledge relating to various areas of Marketing Management.


Paper I: Advanced Marketing Management

It consists of areas like Customers’ Value, Customers’ Satisfaction, Business to Business Marketing, Marketing Control, Strategic Marketing, and such other topics.


Paper II: Integrated Marketing Communication

It deals with various aspects of An Advertising, Advertising and Marketing, Advertising Organisation, Message Design, Media’s Effectiveness, Direct Marketing and other concerned topics.


Paper III: Marketing Research

It includes areas like Basic Concepts, Research Design, Sampling, Data Processing and Analysis, Testing of Hypotheses, Measurement and Scaling, Report Preparation, Applications of Marketing Research etc.


Paper IV: Consumer Behaviour

It relates to Basic Issues, Concepts and Applications of CB, Life Style Marketing, Influences on CB, and Models on Buying Behaviour.

 

GROUP: 4 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

 

Paper I:

It includes basic areas of HRM, Training, Performance Appraisal and Human Relations with Case Study in HRM, and such other topics.


Paper II:

It consists of topics on Industrial Relations, NGOs, Social Security, Collective Bargaining, Employee Compensation, Executive Development, Employee Participation in Management, and other concerned topics.


Paper III:

It covers topics on HR Development, HR Planning, HRD Department, Counselling & Monitoring, HRD and Global Scenario, and other relevant topics.


Paper IV:

It focuses on Researches and key trends in HRM.

 

PROJECT WORK/ DISSERTATION:

·         The project work will be compulsory in Elective Groups of Advance Management, Marketing Management and Human Resource Management.

·         It is to be based on area of specialisation.

·         It should be relating to current issues, trends and problems.

·         It is compulsorily to be prepared by the students for the groups II, III and IV.

·         It is to be prepared under the guidance of concerned faculty members based on industry visits, and/ or an empirical field study.

 

Title of Course:         M. Phil (Commerce)


The objective of this course is to expose existing teachers working in the colleges and the universities, and aspirants with knowledge on commerce and management as well as Research Methodology.


There are three compulsory papers as follows:

Paper I: Financial Management:

It covers areas like Project Planning, Financial Services: Leasing, Merchant Banking, Credit Rating, Venture Capital, Capital Market and other related topics.

Paper II: Perspective Management:

It consists of topics like Management of Business Environment, Structure, Technology and People, Power and Management, Management of Change, OD, MIS, and other concerned topics.

Paper III: Research Methodology

It covers areas on Research Process, Research Design, Sampling, Data Processing and Analysis, Testing of Hypotheses, Measurement and Scaling, Report Preparation, and such other topics.

Title of Course: Ph.D. (Commerce)

Our faculties provide guidance for this programme in the areas of Finance and Accounts, General Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Co-operation, Banking and Industry.
