MAJOR ACHIEVMENTS / BREAKTHROUGHS
A. PLANT MORPHOGENESIS Reliable efficient protocols for high frequency regeneration of several endangered medicinal and aromatic plant species Wood formation in economically important timber trees with reference to cambial activity.
B. ENVIRONMENTAL BIOTECHNOLOGY Isolation and identification of a consortia of microorganisms capable of degradation of textile dyes and dyestuffs
Isolation, identification and characterization of fungal biocontrol agents against animal nematode pests.
C. BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION Revision of ‘Flora of Gujarat’ with special emphasis on threatened / endangered plant taxa.
Evaluation of the reproductive patterns of some rare and threatened plants of Gujarat in relation to their conservation.
