Achievements

The department received grants from UGC which benefitted in the development of the Department .These include:

DBT, New Delhi offered grant to start M.Sc. programmes in the field of Food Biotechnology in 1998.
Rs. 20.00 lacs under NON SAP infrastructure grant in 2008-09 and 2009-2010. Under this, it also received this it received four meritorious student fellowship.
Rs. 58.00lacs under the UGC-Innovative Program to start a P.G. Diploma in Nutrigenomics in the year 2009 for a period of five years (2010-2015).
Rs. 39.5 lacs from the Government of Gujarat- Innovative Program to start Diploma in Food Designing and Quality Assurance in the year 2009.
The Department is now identified as a UGC – SAP department for this, it received 75 lacs under DRS-I in the year 2010 for five years (2010-2015).

Third best poster - “Nutritional studies on Tempeh” at Gujarat State Research Student’s Meet, S. P. University, V.V. Nagar, Feb., 2003.
Best Poster in Family Resource Management at the “Biennial conference of all India Home Science Association”- “A case study on the effectiveness of consumer clubs in the schools of Anand district” in 2007, Jabalpur.
