Presently the Department runs 6 programmes including Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA), M. Sc. (Bioinformatics), M. Phil. (Computer Science), Ph. D. (Computer Science) and Ph. D. (Bioinformatics). More than 450 students are pursuing various degrees at the Department. Research is being conducted in diverse areas like Information Systems, Knowledge Based Systems, Semantic Web and Ontologies, Software Engineering, Data Communication, Systems Software, Distributed Computing, Image Processing, Speech Recognition, Bioinformatics, Data Warehouses, Knowledge Management, Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, etc. The Department organizes various academic events throughout the year.
The Department aims to strengthen teaching and research in various areas and plans to provide state-of-the-art computing facilities to all the students, faculty members and researchers so that they can remain at the forefront of technology.
